Christmas stockings

I have a great neighbour who has an endless supply of christmas trees and is a fantastic frills and bows lady who is slowly teaching me the art of nicnacs!! Saying that my two boys have now given me the push to get more festive with the decorations.....
So this year eddie and teddie is making christmas stockings...they can be personalised with any name or a word of your choice...The price is £12 or two for £20 and a great item that will last for years..
They are also big enough to store gifts with a handy pocket on the front for a little chocolate coin or two!!
Size length 40xm x 20cm at the top of the stocking. The post will come in lots of fab patterned fabrics - all different!

Eddie and teddie craft circus

Well I did it, I finally held my own mini craft circus!! It was an enjoyable if not nerve racking experience as you suddenly realise that you are responsible for someone's taking of that day!!

I had some fantastic people who turned up, Preserves, Jewellery, Nappy Cakes, Hand imprints, Cupcakes, gifts and more. Everyone was great and made a real effort to to get on with each other.

I of course was there with my own stuff and it was nice to have all my goods out again as it has been a busy summer running around after the kids.

the question is of course would I do another one? I don't know - maybe but I am finding my two angel boys are more than enough at the moment and there is not a lot of time left to do anything else in the day!!!

thanks to all who attended and shame on you to the ones who didn't it was a lovely day!!

Large tote bags

I have realised it is time to develop a new bag...so a big chunky tote bag was in order...
Two reasons - (1) I have a slight obsession with a bag that holds a lot of stuff ie. change of clothes, nappies, snacks, purse, rabbits, elephants, dinosaurs..
(2) I need a new bag for swimming - I don't mind if it is not waterproof it will dry, it needs to be big plus why not!!??!

So here it is - made again from recycled fabric with a strong strap and sewn together and finished off with a big of overlocking on the inside.. using heavier weight fabrics too for the winter.

It is not lined, is very slouchy and just right to fling over the shoulder and can be put in the washing machine.

In the usual eddie and teddie style it is colourful and fun.....

Finally - I have decided to offer a great service. If you have any item of clothing that you no longer want but love it too much to throw away for a fee I will turn it into a bag for you. I can now offer three styles SMALL VINTAGE, LARGE VINTAGE and SLOUCHY TOTE.

Holiday

It has been a long since I have last blogged - it has been a very busy time.

I have had a great few weeks with my husband and children on holiday in Pembrokeshire, at a lovely beach called Whitesands.

The weather was fantastic and we went with another couple and their children which made the holiday even more enjoyable.

My eldest son learnt to catch crabs and although a damp day it was thoroughly enjoyable, I didn't catch one as I spent the first 20 minutes walking George so he slept and then Edward had to show me all the other crabs that the other children caught.

The best thing of the holiday is that George finally decided to walk, after 16months of being around he realised that if he walked he would have a better time on holiday with the older kids. Now I am a few more pounds lighter and being stretched a little bit more!!

This is the view from our balcony at the cottage we rented, why go abroad when you can have holidays like this in the UK.

Monday, 12 July 2010

I have been very busy recently trying to make stock and do lots of things to encourage sales.
I have started to realise though that village fete's and craft fairs are very hit and miss on sales, but people do love my products and I have lots of lovely comments.
So I am going to start doing parties and and also visit lots of nurseries and toddler groups to get awareness too.

Craft fairs that I did - I love the fact that my products stand out!

My next challenge is to look at the best way of displaying my goods. You only ever get a 6ft table and I can have a rail or a display unit but how to display aprons, bags, toddler rolls etc so that everyone can have a good look and also do an eye catching display!

I have also decided not to do any more shows now until October. Build stock and do localise selling!

Eddie and teddie aprons

I decided that the best way to showcase my new aprons was to do a little photo shoot with my boys and my friends little girl. It was great fun and out of about 100 photos we got a couple of good ones, unfortunately couldn't get them to put the tub of breadsticks down!

What I love is that the apron come in a really cute bag which is ideal to carry around (after the apron has been discarded on the floor) with lots of toys, accessories, sweets etc...

They come in three great colours - red, blue and pink... a wonderful collection and trendy too!! Plus I have found that with them not being white they don't show the dirt as much!

What I love about these bags is that they are all different and all recycled using vintage fabrics. I recently went shopping and being a mother of two young children and not a big shopper I realised that there is so much stuff in the world..it is nice to do my bit and try and reuse it!

I have been frantically making bags for a fete I am doing at the weekend. I was asked to make a bag for a customers daughter and once made realised how lovely and gorgeous it was so have made a few more to compliment the bigger bags....

vintage beach bags

Well a busy week making vintage recycled beach bags and as much as I sew I sell!! I now need to source more fabrics and keep on top of the demand...I need to think about my cut off point too as I have ideas already for christmas! As my christmas calender is filling up, I need to think about stock..might be time to start asking for help from my fellow sewing ladies..
